3 Valleys : Dordogne - Lot - Célé

The Lot Valley

The Célé Valley

Near Bouziès, the Célé ends its course in the bed of the Lot. The river, which runs from Figeac to Conduché, traces an enchanting sixty-kilometre path. More secret and wilder, still a little forgotten, the Vallée du Célé cultivates its intimacy. When it's not squeezed up against the high grey or ochre cliffs that sometimes jut out over the road, it expands into tranquil meadows, patches of maize or tobacco, acres of vines, copses or poplar groves. This is the realm of outdoor activities, the valley of paradise populated by cazelles and water mills.

It's the wild, fish-filled river of holidays and ricocheting on the water, of canoeing and fly-fishing. Whether you head upstream or downstream along the road that winds from Cabrerets to Boussac, you'll never tire of it. Cabrerets is the crossroads where you usually branch off to go up to Pech Merle. This very charming village has some of its houses flanking the cliff at the foot of the Château des Anglais.

Camping Lot

The Dordogne valley

Its dazzlingly natural and seductive trail charms all travellers. It's your turn to follow the Dordogne Valley, one of the most beautiful in the Midi-Pyrénées. It's your turn to follow its meanders and contemplate the treasures it has created along its banks, from Sousceyrac to Souillac in the Lot.

Along the way, the Dordogne valley will envelop you in its most unspoilt natural setting. Meanders bordered by high cliffs, islands of sand where willows and reeds reign, beaches of tranquillity, walnut and plum orchards: this green and blue scenery, where the brown of the old tiles and the amber patina of the villages stand out, belongs only to the Dordogne valley.
